Not a bad game but nowhere near an 8

User Rating: 6.5 | Blur PS3
I bought this game because of the review here on gamespot. Usually I think everything they say is right and the fact that there were only 2 complaints about this game made me feel as if it would be a great addition to my game collection. It isn't. I'm going to really quickly sum up my opinion on this game.

The Good:
-Online Multiplayer is incredibly fun especially because power ups keep you in the race no matter how far behind you are.
-There are a lot of trophies(I am playing this on PS3).
-It is very addicting
-Everything looks great

The Bad:
-Trying to accomplish everything (get all the lights) in each race is nearly impossible in 1 shot and this means you will find yourself playing even the earliest levels several times over in order to do this (if you are a perfectionist)
-Small selection of cars. Midnight club Dub Edition on psp had more cars than this game, and was arguably more fun.
-Small selection of levels. There isn't an impressive number of race courses in this game and the fact that you will find yourself continually repeating the same levels to try and get 100% completion for that course only makes this more frustrating.
-The AI seems to never make mistakes
-Some of the in-race goals are frustratingly hard.

Conclusion:
I know that I have a lot of negatives and I am making this game seem awful. It isn't bad but there are better arcade racers out there. This game is basically trying to be a gorgeous mario kart with realistic cars but it fails to really capture the magic in mario cart because it can be very repetitive and monotonous and hard.
Before anyone assumes I absolutely hate hard games or anything I would like to say that I am playing demon soul's and it is one of my favorite games of all time.
