This is what happens when a Need for Speed game and Mario Kart are combined. And yes, its awesome.

User Rating: 9.5 | Blur PS3
Blur is the perfect blend of arcade racer and a kart racer. I've always wondered what would happen when those two genres combined, and I was seriously impressed with the results.

There is something about this game that puts it way ahead of the pack for all racing games, and its not only the amazing online play. In fact, the online play is the biggest problem with this game. Its great, but maintaining a good lead ahead of the pack is nearly impossible with 19 other idiots launching missiles at you.

But the one thing that makes Blur stand out compared to other racers is the blend of the incredible presentation, fast paced racing, the variety of different items, and beautiful graphics that make for pretty good eye candy.

The one game this is closest to is Mario Kart, and it does share a lot of similarities there are quite a few points that make you wonder why Mario Kart hasn't come up with it yet. The biggest thing in that group is the ability to almost chose your item. I say almost because on the track there are certain items that you will need to drive through to get that item.

Pros.
- Beautiful Graphics
- Insanely addicting
- Great multiplayer (both co-op and online)
- Presentation is flawless
- Races with 20 people can get insanely intense
- Great online play

Cons.
- In online multi-player matches, its nearly impossible to maintain first place
- 2 person co-op is fun, if one person is better than the other, it gets boring fast.

Story: N/A

Sound: 7/10
Kind of disappointing that there is no music during races, but sound effects and everything else are spot on. Oh and one of the cars you get later in the game sounds like a vuvuzela

Graphics: 9/10
Two words to describe it: Eye Candy. The only reason it gets a 9/10 is because we have seen better graphics this year.

Presentation: 10/10
Flawless, between menus, the pre-race track introduction, and the tutorials. Everything looks awesome and just makes it a joy to sit in the menus sometimes.

Difficulty: 8/10
It can get hard in places, especially in online play. Races are tough, but to too hard. And even when you don't come in 1st, you will come back to get first in that race

Controls: 9/10
Spot-on aside from some "grippy" cars feel somewhat drifty, there is still a huge difference between the feel of all of the cars.

Gameplay: 10/10
Addicting, fast, and fun. There is never a framerate problem, the graphics fit the game so well, and the power ups look great.

"Fun" Factor: 10/10
If you have ever liked a racing game, you will love this game

Should I get it?
One simple word: Yes.
