"just what I’ve been hoping for"

Ever since I got the psp I’ve been waiting for a good rpg. I own pretty much all the rpg games that came out for psp.(Breath of Fire, VP:Lenneth, Untold Legends 1& 2, Tales of Eternia, and Kingdom of Paradise, the list goes on) Don’t get me wrong, these games were fine (VP:Lenneth :D ),they just don’t do what this game does for me.

Story: 7
The storyline is the only “bad” thing about this game. A typical storyline like most rpg, a spiky haired kid goes out to save the word from danger. The storyline goes a little deeper that this, but not much. I have no problem with a good classic storyline like this, but they could have been more creative.
Gameplay:10
This is what the game is known for, its addicting gameplay. The world of Blade Dancer is very alive and keeps u alert. You can’t pause the game while you are in a forest or dungeon the monster-spawns move around. There are no “random encounters” it’s kind of like Final Fantasy XI were u have the creeps running around. The combat style is a little different than most rpgs, u don’t use mana (or magic) but have a “luna” bar that u use for using your specials/combos (kind of like magic though), which the creeps can feed off to use their magic. This gauge goes up as the battle progresses.
There is a cool crafting system that u can use to create items and weapons. You will have to use this since your weapons will eventually break, so u must stack up on your characters weapons before u leave a city/town. This a nice aspect it puts in a little twist to the game and challenges my rpg skills.
This game supports a ad-hoc mode were u and a friend can do missions. You both start a different ends of a dungeon/tower and progress till u meet and fight a boss.
Graphic: 10
One of the best for the psp, really shows its potentials for future games for the psp,
really portray a living breathing world
Sound: 10
Its sound…Has music in towns and outside the towns has nature sound (waterfalls, river, wind, sandstorms, est.)
Rent or Buy??
Definitely buy if you are an rpg gamer/fan, this game won’t disappoint you if u give it time and consideration. Like any rpg starts slow and then next thing you know u you’re halfway thought the game. This reminds of FF XI so if u like that game u would love this one.
