Bionic commando Xbox 360 review

Capcom's latest addition to its already prolific series is a gleaming example of how old classics can be made relevant in 21st century gaming as it introduces the series to new generation with fun and comical game play while satisfying the already firmly built fan base with memorable characters and a fluid, functional storyline.

Bionic commando takes place in the fictional location of ascension city a plane scape filled with dangerous radiation and treacherous ground level pitfalls making the city with its vast array of arched street lights and hanging motorways the perfect place for the protagonist from the previous games Nathan Spencer to take centre stage. in various locations around the city we find our selves reaching out with our recently requisitioned arms for the heights of the city only to be exposed to the cleverly placed radioactive clouds that interfere with Nathan's sensitive technology leaving us to fall to the ground and clumsily stumble through a seemingly shallow volume of water only to be sucked under by the weight of his arm and yes sometimes these little traps seem to keep us glued to the path set for us but it also structures the game for the player teaching the boundaries of the game in a way it shows Nathan's mortality although he is portrayed as some kind of unstoppable mechanical monster it demonstrates how little it takes to bing him down and as the game progresses the reasoning behind this design "feature" is made apparent even through it sometimes detracts from the fun. another refreshing and enjoyable feature from this game is the challenges these add to the game by improving various abilities and unlocking impressive moves by performing certain kill streaks or just swinging to the right height can earn you new armour or even a new ability making them worth wile and fun but again these challenges can become repetitive and sometimes distracting as you pride yourself on completing each one which is easy but time consuming.

The graphic design for bionic commando is impressive capcom and GRIN have captured the spirit of the previous games and pushed the game to the next level of brilliance as it shines with HD glory, the game prides it self on quality and it has done that with its impressive weapons and engine but some flaws are distracting and do require polishing but they are not overly distracting from the performance and shear excellence of this game i would recommend this game not only for the players who have never experienced its predecessors but also to the Elite bionic commando fans out there who hunt for nostalgia there are alot of features in this game to enjoy and this diamond in the rough should be experienced by all.
