User Rating: 5.7 | Giant Egg: Billy Hatcher no Daibouken GC
I loved the demo to Billy Hatcher, but the full version of the game gets repetitive quick. Fist off let me just say this game really needed some voice overs. There is a lot of dialog for such a simple game, and wile reading the music is toned down and all most put you to sleep reading the slow and boring story. You play a boy named Billy who now must help bring back the day from the evil crows who stole it, or the world will never see daytime again. The problem with that is most of the starting levels are dark and missing the bright colors the demo had. This makes it hard to see what is going on. The demo had very bright sand and a nice water all over and felt like Mario Sunshine. One thing the Nintendo Game Cube can do is make very bright and vivid colors like in Mario and Zelda Wind Waker. Thankfully latter on in the Game you do get to play in some nicely lit areas, but the core of the game is still very repetitive and boring. The CG movie cuts in the game however have very bright and great back rounds. The characters look out of place, but the water, trees, and sand are all very impressive running on the GC. There is really no need to buy this game at all, unless you have always had the urge to dress up in a chicken costume. Which I recommend simply getting a job at you local fast food Chicken store. At lest that way you could be fulfilling your dream and making money, instead of wasting money on a mid core game like this.
