Simply put, Battlefield 1943 is for anybody with a hankering for an online shooter.

User Rating: 8.5 | Battlefield 1943 PS3
Following last year's Battlefield: Bad Company, Dice has sated their fan's appetites for shooting enemy soldiers with Battlefield 1943. This game is, quite possibly, one of the best PSN games out there (unless you don't like fun).
First, the graphics:
Wow. This is downloadable? This game looks beautiful in action, the detail is impressive, and the lighting is nice. The production values present here are just as good as a retail game.
The gameplay:
If you played BF:BC, you know what to expect. For newbies, however, let me explain. As usual, R1 is shoot, trigger buttons are switch weapons, and such. However, this isn't COD. This a much more team-based shooter, and sniping is way different.
The actual game revolves around taking control points and defeating as many soldiers as possible, which wears out your opponent's life bar. The more control points you hold, the more is taken off the life bar when you defeat someone. The only things left to be desired are the absence of maps (there are only 4, one of which that can only be played with planes). Speaking of planes, another frustrating thing is that THE PLANES HANDLE LIKE CRAP.
The sound:
The usual, except for the fact that as you get hurt, the sounds you hear are distorted, and when a grenade goes off next to you, you hear your ears pop. It's pretty cool.

In summary, if you feel like shooting stuff online (and only online, as there is no single player) and have 15 dollars to spare, there's nothing that could go wrong with getting this game.
