Batman Begins Off Good at first

User Rating: 6.8 | Batman Begins XBOX
The movie Batman Begins was great and really brought Batman back because of the two last disgraceful movies before it. Though such a good movie the same can't be said about the game unfortunately thought for a game based off another blockbuster movie which usually disappoints and make you resent them ever being created this one is a step up.

What's surprising also, is that the actual cast of actors including Christian Bale, Micheal Kane and others contribute to the game which does lift it up from other games which do not the sounds are still not all that amazing. All the battle sequences pretty much bring it back to the same music and the soundtrack is not all that impressive though not horrible.

The boards are complex and basically what you are playing the game for. The environment and obstacles such as jumping over this and climbing that mixed with a little hide and go seek but Batman style so that means sticking to the element of fear by dwelling in shadows and surprising your enemies by getting the drop on them; but this comes to a halt when put to how it's done. The game makes fear a big part of the game. You hit things that make noise or break things to scare the bad guys and then you jump in after they are ready to be beaten up. This becomes repetitious and furthermore expected all the time because when you arrive in a new area you immediately look for something to smash or break.

The boards themselves are challenging but leave you feeling like it's not really a Batman man game in this way because you want to creep up behind gangs of people and take them out Solid Snake style which does occur sort of but not the way you think it will. The combat system is too simple so you either get beat up if there's 3 guys, or you have a item that incapacitates them as a group and cheese them out one by one. If you do start to get hit you will die surprisingly fast so it's almost necessary to have an item. The items you get are things like gas pellets or a fear pellet that induces fear to the opponent to the point where you then just knock them out. Sometimes you have to hack into computers which is easy and similar to dead to rights but you align Batman symbols instead of gears.

You get to certain points where you have to interrogate people which is pretty cool and you hit them to keep them talking. They get scared and eventually share information with you. Sometimes you are given a very cool opportunity to grapple down from a pipe or something you are clinging onto from the ceiling and grab an enemy, zip back up to the ceiling and interrogate him if he has information in mid-air while holding on to the ceiling. If he doesn't you kick him or toss him down which is cool too plus eliminates one bad guy really quick.

The driving sequences are nice at first but then become plain boring since it's mostly just stretches of road and no other real obstacles besides turns occur. You smash into cars and damage them and that is your goal for the most part. It always says there was no casualties when you hit a vehicle even though you know that if it was real, they all would've died. Graphics are solid and controls are simple which make it easy to get the hang of. In addition it's pretty much a straight forward path all the time so you don't really get lost. It's fun but not worth replaying to unlock all the extra content being that they are just movie clips and a few extra costumes in which you probably unlocked the majority of the first go around. It is enjoyable and worth playing, because for a change as said earlier for a game based on a movie it's actually pretty good, but other then that you'll be adding it to your retired collection soon.
