A safe addition

User Rating: 7 | Batman: Arkham Knight XONE

Audio:
I think the voice acting has become a bit stale with the weak dialogue. It's no longer that fantastic back and forth supported by a stellar story, Instead it's the same old same old and it just isn't as good. The sound track also is a bit lack luster.

Visuals:
Not the best designed game in my opinion. While previous games were beautiful open worlds, This one seems to lack variety in world designs and isn't that appealing to look at either. Also suffers from a few minor bugs too.

Game Play:
It's your typical Arkham game play. It's still satisfying and fun to play, The addition of riding around in the Batmobile helps keep the game fresh.

Other:
The story sort of varies through out and is constantly either good or bad. They pretty much stripped the open world/exploring aspect of the game and instead make you rely heavily on the Batmobile to move around and complete tasks. In fact, You spend far more time fighting enemy vehicles in the Batmobile than you do in hand to hand combat. Riddler challenges are far too difficult, Same goes with the AR challenges. Character designs are much improved and more realistic. The Arkham Knight is a pretty compelling villain but not really used properly, He spends most of the time off screen while allowing other famous villains time in the spot light. How many times are they going to keep re-using the same villains in this series? It'd be nice to see some fresh faces instead of the same ones over and over again (Penguin, Riddler, Joker to name a few). Still fun to play as previous games in the series and easy to get lost in. While there is a bit of a learning curve, I actually really enjoy riding around in the Batmobile.

Overall: 7/10
Right off the bat (haha), They need to tone down use of the Batmobile and make it more of an open world again, One you can actually explore with on foot rather than riding around all the time. Add in new, compelling villains from Batman lore would be nice too. Tweaking the controls for the Batmobile to make it easier to control would be nice too. Aside from that, It's a pretty solid and safe game overall. A nice welcome to the next gen consoles for the series. I just hope they do more in the sequel.
