An awesome arcade game that rivals some of the early 360 games.

Wow is all I can say. This is a must have for arcade game lovers who want death and beautiful visuals. The story is simple. You are a soldier, the last remaining survivor of your unit and you must battle your way to the enemy HQ...sounds simple..it ain't.

Enemies come at you from all sides varying from soldiers to heavy tanks, and anything in between. Now like most of your above head view arcade blast em's you want to keep your fire going at all times while picking up gun upgrades , but the thing is, that the Ai is smart and they will actually move in between your shots and shoot you meaning that this game , while paying homage to many great arcade shooters of the 80s and 90s with mindless high score violence, may take some finesse to beat. Meaning you need to get the jump on your enemies and actually move around and avoid there shots as well firing back.

Sitting in one spot shooting your gun continuously will get you no were. Its an arcade shooter, but take every great arcade shooter roll it in to one, and you have Assault Heroes...its a touch complicated....in a good way though.

The control work flawlessly for this game, I just cant complain at all. All the buttons just feel right. Its simple to. You use a total of 3-4 buttons max, I think.

Game play wise out of all the arcade shooters on LIVE such as Contra, Doom, Smash TV etc, this game crushes them all and is insanely addictive.....mainly because of the visual presentation. The visuals in this game are comparable to Kameo. Lush environments, detailed enemies and vehicles, Weather effects are top notch in later levels when it rains/lighting, the water is gorgeous and looks good enough to drink. While it has outstanding graphics, the atmosphere of the visual just feels thick and very artistic in my opinion.

From the vegetation to the level design, to everything in general not only feels and looks right but just has both a stunning and an artistic value to it for an arcade game, that has never been done before. While the game feels familiar, it is also alien at the same time.

I don't see how gamespot gave it a 7 for graphics, I mean out of all the arcade games (which they compare it to) this game is top notch. In the close up cut scenes and boss fights.......*drools*......were honestly talking the arcade version of gears here visually! I cant say enough, especially about the detail of the bosses...OMFG....just wet my self!

You take mindless mayhem, throw in just a touch of semi-strategy, excellent top notch visuals that are equal to if not better than first gen 360 titles, boss fights that almost rival the HUGE bosses in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight princess (the bosses are HUGE in that game), and sound that fits to perfection...and you have a PERFECT arcade game....hell a perfect game in general. I advise any one who really like arcade shooters, mindless mayhem, or just wants to drool over lush environments for ten bucks this game is a frigging bargain!

AT least demo it. If its your style you will buy it. Note the first demo level is ok, the boss is the cool part, its just a taste of what this game has to offer.
