The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Marbled Gohma boss is towering spider encased in rocks. You're going to have to break down its defenses before you can deal damage. Here's our guide to help you defeat Marbled Gohma in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to beat Marbled Gohma in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Marbled Gohma boss will be your final test after clearing the Eldin Fire Temple Puzzle. This section of the game has Link relying often on Yunobo's Rolling Fireball not just to damage foes, but also to break apart obstacles.

You'll be using this fairly often during the fight to stun the Marbled Gohma. The idea is to activate Yunobo's skill, then target the boss' legs to destroy the protective rocks. Do this a couple of times, and your foe will get stunned. You can then climb on its body so you can smack its eye your melee weapon.

Don't get too greedy during the DPS phase or the boss will crack Link's head.

The Marbled Gohma has a few abilities:

  • Legdrop - When one of its legs is raised higher, it will crash down on the ground, usually where Link is standing.
  • Rock Bombs - Several large rocks will drop, and you'll need to avoid them since they'll explode within a few seconds.
  • Angry Roar - You have a few seconds to DPS the boss while it's stunned. If you're still on its body once it stands up, you'll take a bit of damage.

These attacks are retained for phase 2, and it will have some additional mechanics that you need to deal with:

  • From the Air - The boss will plant itself in the ceiling, which means you have to aim Yunobo's Rolling Fireball toward its general direction. Your pal will roll all the way around the ceiling to hit its leg.
  • Rock Bomb Cage - The large rocks this time will surround Link before exploding after a few seconds.

To deal with the Rock Bomb Cage, you'll need a strong blunt weapon (i.e. fused with a boulder or spiked ball) or Yunobo's Rolling Fireball to break them quickly. Otherwise, you'll get hit with multiple explosions. You may also pop Sidon's Water Bubble, assuming you've already beaten the Mucktorok boss. However, this will only protect you from one instance of damage. The effect will dissipate after a single explosion, and you'll still be vulnerable to the rest. Alternatively, you just need to keep running sideways whenever it's cast. There's a chance that the boulders will form a ring in the area that you just ran past.

Pray that Yunobo's ability is off-cooldown or you'll go kablooey... several times.

With a bit of luck, you should be able to defeat the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Marbled Gohma boss. This will complete the Eldin/Goron City quest chain. Yunobo will also grant you his vow, allowing you to make use of Rolling Fireball during your travels.

Don't forget to advance further into the campaign by finishing the other regional main quests. You'll be visiting Gerudo, Lanayru, and Hebra.
