Following yesterday's reports about rumored new Xbox consoles and devices, some of which could be announced at E3, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has spoken up to talk about how he's excited for this year's show.

Asked on Twitter if E3 was a highlight for him every year, Spencer agreed. He said E3 is a "great time for the industry, gamers, and our team." He added, "Like everyone else, I can't wait to see news and spend time with the community." Here's the exchange in full:

Microsoft's E3 2016 briefing is scheduled for the morning of Monday, June 13. The show will be 90 minutes long, and, if yesterday's reports turn out to be true, gamers might see at least one new Xbox device announced during the event.

Microsoft may also use the briefing to talk about its supposed plans to launch its biggest franchises, including Halo, across console and PC.

Following yesterday's reports, Spencer spoke out on Twitter to say there was "lots of creative chatter" going around.

Microsoft may not be alone in talking about new hardware at E3. There are rumors that Sony will launch a new and improved PlayStation 4, and E3 would seem to be a likely venue for its official reveal, if it is indeed real.
