War Is Coming In House Of The Dragon Season 2 Trailer

It appears the Targaryens are never ever getting back together.

Otto Hightower admits "errors were made" after the death of King Viserys in the first trailer for House of the Dragon Season 2. He fails to mention they clearly benefited him, but they won't benefit Westeros by the looks of things in the new footage for the Game of Thrones prequel.

All-out war between Targaryens is inevitable at this point in House of the Dragon. That said, Rhaenys Targaryen--who herself got screwed out of the throne--offers a word of warning to her niece, Rhaenyra (portrayed by Emma D'Arcy). "There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin, and no war so bloody as a war between dragons," says Rhaenys (played by Eve Best).

The debut trailer for the second season also shows off plenty of dragons on screen, including a standoff between the gigantic beasts on a beach.

Last week, HBO unveiled the first posters for House of the Dragon Season 2. The series will return this coming summer, a release window confirmed by the new trailer. House of the Dragon kept shooting over this past summer during the writers and actors strikes. Reportedly, this was possible because scripts were already finalized and UK actors couldn't join the picket line with Hollywood because of UK law.

In addition to D'Arcy and Best, House of the Dragon Season 2 will also see the return of Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, and Phoebe Campbell. New characters coming into the fold for House of the Dragon include Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong and Freddie Fox as Alicent's brother Ser Gwayne Hightower, among others.
