Upcoming The Sims 4 expansion Growing Together adds a multitude of family interactions, new systems called milestones and social compatibility, as well as infant Sims.

Don't fear, as infants will arrive for all players in a base game update. They will have a wide variety of clothing, hairstyles, accessories, quirks, and special interactions. You can purchase and use infant-focused furniture like a changing station or a playmat. Adult sims can also carry their infant children around the world in a special backpack.

A variety of new interactions have also been added. Elders can now interact with children, including their grandkids, in new ways. Toddlers, just like infants, are also receiving new quirks like Picky Eater or Early Riser. Children have four new aspirations: Slumber Party Animal, Mind and Body, Playtime Captain, and Creative Genius.

Sims also now have social compatibility, reflecting not only whether two sims will get along, but how they do (or don't). Sims can be competitive together or practical jokers for example. Another new sytem, Milestones, is a way of marking your sims' growth and their life experience.. Some milestones are associated with particular life stages like Midlife Crisis. Others are associated with particular life events, like a career obstacle. Every infant also has a set of milestones, which provide a guide for the Infant life stage.

Growing Together introduces the Bayfront town of San Sequoia. It has three neighborhoods: Anchorpoint Wharf, Gilbert Gardens, and Hopewell Hills. The town has an urban park, a pier, and many craftman-style homes. The Michaelson family, teased in the first Behind The Sims video, will be among the town's occupants.

The Growing Together expansion launches on March 16, 2023. It will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. You can find out more details on The Sims website. If you purchase the expansion from February 2 to April 27, you get some extra goodies like a swing set and toddler carrier.
