Skyblivion, the mod that aims to recreate The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim engine, has a new trailer and a release window of 2025.

Skyblivion is a volunteer-based project coming from the TESRenewal modding group, who aim to bring the classic game to a new generation of gamers. It's been in the works for years now, but those who have supported the project can finally expect the mod to release sometime in 2025.

The trailer showcases the Oblivion remake mod with graphics, character models, and animations created in the Skyrim engine. Entire zones, cities, environments, dungeons, and more have also been completely remade.

"Remaking Oblivion in the Skyrim engine is what we set out to do when we started the Skyblivion project," said Rebelzize, the lead developer on Skyblivion. "Making games takes time, this goes double for a volunteer project the size of a AAA game that took a team of full-time DEVS years to make.

"Regardless we would like to share today that Skyblivion is in a state where we can promise a 2025 release at the latest. We hope with your support to finish the final steps in completing our dream, maybe even beating our own estimation."

TESRenewal have been quiet since its last development update back in March 2022. On the official website, the team notes that it is currently in the process of remaking the Cyrodiil zone, as well as all of its quests, characters, and locations into Skyrim and Skyrim: Special Edition.
