Take-Two, GameStop shares fall on GTAV delay

Wow! That's a huge delay! I thought it was gonna be May, June tops.

Normally I wouldn't care, but this few months of delay seems it may put it very close to the release of the 720, at which point I would not be as excited for it anymore.

I am glad their investors are angry just like many gamers, there is no reason for this delay, they know the engine and have had five years to work on this game. They should have released in March, or Spring 2013 as they had on the posters not Spet. 17th 2013, Rockstar is jerking everyone around with these BS delays.

Its bad enough theres only one damn city instead of 3, and that dating as well as property are out.

hahahaha always delay... the ps4 and xbox720 will release november... so i think gta5 will the 1st game in ps4 hahahaha..

Pushing it close to the fall competition I do not think they will meet the lofty 25 million copies sold goal that has been talked about by some analysts

Next thing you know...it's next gen.

If the new Xbox and Ps4 launch this fall, this delay could really impact the games sales. Everyone will be eager for the new console software, and GTA might be left out.

I remember when I never paid attention to or cared about things like stock prices and all this behind the scenes developer drama. I was a happier gamer then, so I will return to that state. good bye gaming journalism. Heck, no one is going to want a next gen console if they are coming out this holiday season (which I'm starting to doubt), and GTA is released on current-gen at about the same time... there wont be any titles to compare to the greatness of GTA for the next gen upon its release.

It seems like just about the whole mainstream game world has been delayed.....

"Investors are not thrilled with today's Grand Theft Auto V delay." Oh, so investors are a lot like gamers then (or might even be worse if that's possible :P). A lot of gamers aren't thrilled with many things that companies do, but it's not until you hit them in their economic solar plexus that they react. Expectations are tricky and that's why I don't like the stock market, too much influence based on what the investors expected or think/fear might happen. The GTA V for PC petition is almost at its goal of 150 000 signatures, so I hope that means anything.

And it shall rise again sometime soon. Ups and downs, highs and lows.

I was expecting a delay, but not till Sept. |:[ Hopefully they will give us something extra like a DLC of San Andreas haha i can only wish well whatever.

I'm not surprised to see this.When I read sci-fi news I guessed GTA5 will be delayed.We know that they want to deliver best GTA to date and unforgettable ending of this generation.Maybe they delayed to get a PC version ready along with the consoles on release :D

u kinda expected that to happen I usually find that games with huge titles usually ended up being delayed

Great, that means we have to wait longer for the PC version...if we get a PC version...Hopefully without GFWL.

YESS. Now i have more time for other games. Im satisfied.

They might as well have made it it a Next Gen game by this point. Sucks they won't be able to release this game when the next wave of consoles come out.

Now is the right time to buy Take 2 then, I guess. Because GTA V is going to be amazing.

Maybe they delayed to get a PC version ready along with the consoles on release, a man can dream.

In better news, shares are now cheaper for the rest of us to buy and almost guaranteed to shoot up come September, yay.

Not surprised to see this. There's nothing for investors to look at now until the holidays. If big titles like God of War, Gears of War and Last of Us also get pushed back, you'll see a similar drop in shares for Gamestop and whatever publisher is involved. And even with those titles, GTAV was going to be the mega hit of the spring quarter as the game has broad appeal, is cross platform and has a huge following. With the new date, it will brush up against whatever the next Halo and COD games are.
