We'll finally get our first look at the upcoming Disney+ Star Wars series The Acolyte this week.

Comments

The next Star Wars TV series, The Acolyte, will premiere on June 4 and fans will finally have their first look at the High Republic-focused show tomorrow. The series will focus on an investigation into a crime spree that pits a respected Jedi Master (Squid Game's Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg, Bodies Bodies Bodies).

The Acolyte--which takes place at the end of the High Republic era or about 100 years before the Star Wars prequel movies--will be helmed by Russian Doll showrunner Leslye Headland.

"A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated," reads a line from the show's description. Star Wars released the first teaser poster for the show on Monday

Joining Jung-jae and Stenberg, the show also stars Manny Jacinto, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Dafne Keen.

The Acolyte is not the only new Star Wars series coming this year, as The Bad Batch just returned for its third and final season. The series will wrap up in early May, so if The Acolyte arrives in June, fans won't have a big gap between Star Wars goodness.

As for the Star Wars movie series, the next release is 2026's The Mandalorian & Grogu. After that will come the new film that brings back Daisy Ridley as Rey.
