Silent Hill gets Experience

With the Silent Hill movie set to hit theaters in April and no new Silent Hill game currently announced, Konami is thinking that fans of the series can use a little interactivity with the haunted town.

Today, the publisher revealed that it will be releasing The Silent Hill Experience for the PSP. Instead of a proper Silent Hill game, the Experience will contain an interactive comic, music from the series, and various video presentations.

The comic will be based on the story of the upcoming film and will be drawn by Steve Perkins and Alex Shibao. Fans can navigate the six 15-minute chapters using the controls on the PSP and can also check out the Dying Inside comic series, optimized for the PSP.

The music portion will feature 20 tracks from the Silent Hill games chosen by the game's composer, Akira Yamaoka. Video content includes an interview with Silent Hill director Christophe Gans, a chat with Yamaoka, and cinematics from the Silent Hill games.

The Silent Hill Experience will be released in April 2006. No rating or pricing information has been announced.
