Red Dead Online Update's Double XP Boost Ends Soon

Four new maps have been added to the Featured Series in Red Dead Online on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Developer Rockstar Games is adding four new maps to the Featured Series in Red Dead Redemption 2's online mode, which sees each player armed with just a fistful of Throwing Knives at the outset of each round. Taking part in this week's Featured Series--or any other Showdown mode--will also net you double XP. However, you'll have to take advantage by April 13.

The game mode Overrun takes place on the arid climes of Pike's Basin, tasking you to capture and retain the most territories in order to emerge victorious. Stillwater Creek, meanwhile, is the setting for Plunder, as you'll need to grab unclaimed loot and return it to your team's home base to outscore your rivals.

Just to the north of the Annesburg Mines, Roanoke Valley plays host to Spoils of War. In this mode, you need to defend your stockpile from enemies while simultaneously stealing from there's. Whoever steals the most wins. And last but not least there's Up In Smoke, which sees the calm and meandering waters of the Kamassa Rivers as the backdrop to an explosive game mode that sees each player start out carrying a package. Your goal is to deliver that package to the enemy's camp without being killed, with the team that delivers the most packages destroying the enemy's base for good.

Rockstar says fresh maps with be hitting two more Showdown modes in the next couple of weeks. The Grand Theft Auto V developer is also donating 5% of all revenue from purchases made in GTA Online and Red Dead Online to help local communities and businesses who have been affected by the impact of COVID-19.
