Nintendo proved most consumers are not graphic whores... Sony learned that too because the cutting edge performance in the PS3 sold like crap for its first 3-4 years.

more social sh*t ? did not occur to anybody that some people(me) don't have any gamer-friends ? the only thing that can save the next gen, in my opinion, is the focus on hardcore gamers instead of casual gamers.

Just what I was worried about when they said they were ditching the Dualshock and taking cues from the Vita. Connecting and sharing with smart phones, tablets, etc. I just don't get this fight for the second screen. Microsoft tried it with Smart Glass and that's a heap of trash, I just do not enjoy it. The Wii U is doing it with their tablet controller which I haven't tried yet and then they're releasing a Miiverse for smart phones to connect to. I wonder what road they're going to go down. The phone/tablet you already own as controller, or a brand new Sony tablet that apes the Wii U's gamepad. Maybe we'll find out on the 20th.

Looks like the idiotic, prepubescent fanboys are crawling out of the woodwork here. You people are missing the point. It's not that the PS4 won't have impressive hardware specs, it will - it's just that it's not the main selling point.

Of course it's getting beefed up hardware - It's Sony and that's what they do, plus it's been 8 years since the PS3 was announced. Beefed up hardware is not going to differentiate them from the competition as it's expected with advances in technology. New and exciting features like biometrics will. If the PS4 has enhanced connectivity with Android phones and biometrics where it can sense my emotions then it's an insta-buy.

And isn't the PS4 reported to be more powerful than nextbox? Why are Sony and MS so caught up in everything but the main concern...games, power, graphics. I have a wii u already so don't imitate that. If they don't focus on Next gen games and horsepower, why buy it? Use my phone with it, talk to it, nerve hub??? Wtf. All this shit adds up on the cost

But now, I will connect my PS4 to my Sony Xperia and my sony tablet, and my sony PC, and lets not forget my sony TV. And then I will let all my devices beat the crap out of each other for a couple minutes of my attention.

Don't want a nerve center. Just want something to play games on. And watch Blu-Rays...as in "put the disc in start it."

So Sony just wants to copy the Xbox 360 & wait to copy the Xbox Infinite!

Imagine if EA made a console, they would charge you just to turn the controller on...then you'd have to buy the buttons on it as "additional content" ;)

that was very interesting and if i may say that you guys did an excellent job in the trailler but i have one question if i may. if the Playstation 4 is going to be release than what are the compatabilities of the PS4.. i only ask this because when the PS3 came out, it was compatable with PS2 and PS games. I did not ask this question to be rude or disrespectful because I respect you guys..

Lets see Phony & Microshite try to out gimmick each other this time around. I've always been a multi-patform gamer but PS3 & 360 may well be my last consoles (at least for a long time). The wankers at top level corporate land have bastardized this hobby.

Thank **** that I enjoy PC gaming to the max. The next gen consoles need advanced quality games first and foremost, **** multi-media gimmicks.

when the ps4 is released it will only be comparable to the pc for a few months, at best.

if they plan to make the ps4 a "nerve center" for entertainment, they better include a keyboard, mouse, and a better security for their network.

I think they've bowed to the inevitable and realized they simply cannot make a console that's both:

1) Cheap

2) Comparable to PC specs

So in order to keep their console price effective, they have to say they aren't going for specs or someone's going to point out (which they already have) that PCs have surpassed those specs for a long time.

If they do not update the graphics, I will not be buying the PS4. I'm sick of these stupid gimmicks. I hate the Kinnect, Wii, and move. As a matter of fact, I bought them all, and really tried to give them a chance, but they all just suck and I sold them.

They need to get back to basics and realize, gamers like to just have a good solid controller and pretty graphics. Nobody, unless you're a little kid wants to be swinging their arms around like an idiot while playing games.

I don't know about you, but when I come home from work and college, I don't feel like sitting in a perfect position to swing my arms and aim, which by the way, these motion controls are inaccurate and inconvenient. I just want to have my controller and escape into a virtual world and relax.

Have they not noticed most of the games for these gimkicky add ons for the current consoles are getting terrible reviews?

The controllers will probably be the VITA so they sell more of them, lol!

i'll stick to my pc being my console atm. 360 controller?..check..hdtv? check! that's pretty much all a console is..a pc w/ a controller that hooks up to the tv. but pc's can easily hook up to tv's now, plus you can set higher resolutions than current-gen w/ your pc (if your tv can handle it)

I think I'm going to play on my PS1 for a long time and take a long breathe of this current generation.
