The Flame in the Flood comes to PlayStation 4 on January 17, publisher Curve Digital announced today. PS4 users get the game in the form of the Complete Edition, which features directors' commentary, a dynamic theme, two avatars, and a "host of gameplay tweaks" that are also present in the existing Xbox One and PC editions.

Released on PC and Xbox One in 2016, The Flame in the Flood takes place in a "post-societal" America where players must fight to survive in a procedurally generated environments. In addition to a gorgeous art style, the game features original music written by Hot Water Music singer Chuck Ragan.

GameSpot's The Flame in the Flood review scored it an 8/10.

"The Flame in the Flood encourages you to put long-term goals aside and live in the moment, to make choices and overcome short-term problems with risky but satisfying spontaneity," reviewer Edmond Tran said. "Despite the awkward menu system, it's an absorbing game that lets you experience a journey in the present, and fully appreciate the sights, sounds, and joys of floating down the river in its alluring world."

The Kickstarter-funded Flame in the Flood was developed by the Boston-based independent studio The Molasses Flood, while Curve Digital handled the PS4 edition.
