Project Cars 2 On Xbox One X Will Look "Significantly" Better Than PS4 Pro, Dev Says

The racing game will look best on Xbox One X, unless you're using a high-end PC.

Microsoft has been saying for a while now that Xbox One X versions of multiplatform games will look and run better than any other console edition. While that remains to be seen, it looks like Project Cars 2 will at least look better running on Microsoft's Xbox One X.

Speaking to TrustedReviews, game director Stephen Viljoen said people playing on Xbox One X will see the best-looking version of the game on console. "I can't tell you exactly what all the various sliders will be at when you're on Xbox One X versus on PS4 Pro, but obviously they'll be higher [on Xbox One X], so there will be a significant, a noticeable improvement, because you have better hardware."

This is no surprise to hear, as the Xbox One X is the most powerful console ever made. According to Microsoft, it has 40 percent more power than the PS4 Pro.

While the PC edition of Project Cars 2 will look and perform the best if you have a beefy enough rig, Viljoen remarked that the Xbox One X is a "great piece of hardware." The developer is looking forward to "making the most of it," adding that Project Cars 2 will look and run better on Xbox One X than any other system out there apart from a high-end PC.

Project Cars 2 launches on September 22 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. GameSpot is meeting with the developers next week and we'll have more on the game soon. For now, you can check out all the cars and all the tracks through GameSpot's new videos below.

The Xbox One X launches in November, priced at $500. Internationally, it will go for £449, €499, CA$599, and AU$649.

@lonesamurai1: never knew FF15 had issues l, I bought it at launch. I know issues of lawbreakers and prey but that's devs fault. I also never knew 3 games out of hundreds is considered a regular. Definitely less than PC. Just purchased Hellblade from steam yesterday and I get freezing issues every 3-5 mins for a couple seconds.

@lonesamurai1: yea for pc to be widespread it would have to be a bigger problem than on consoles. Because of so many different hardware combinations, almost all games have some sort of issues at launch and get fixed soon after. Prey also had known issues on pc at launch. I purchased nier automata on ps4 because the issues on pc are still not fixed. But like I said 3 out of plenty other games is not a norm. That's probably 1% of games released this yr to have issues( as mentioned b4 I never knew or had issues with FF15)

@lonesamurai1: almost a week after prey was released bathesda was promising a fix so it definitely was longer than a day. That much I know, it was the version I played. Hellblade has issues which I hope get resolved soon. Nier still has issues that have not been fixed since April. But its a normal thing on all platforms so I'm not really stressing it because there are hundreds of other games to play that devs took their time to complete before release lol.

@lonesamurai1: it looks like you're moving the goal posts for pc or have something against ps4. I've heard the prey issues on ps4 (I played the pc version), obviously the ff15 you're talking about was not that serious and was fixed shortly after because I never heard about it or experienced anything. and lawbreakers already got patched and fixed. If youre going to count ff15 and law breakers then you have to count the games I mentioned. Nier still has annoying issues on pc and hellblade is not a personal issue, you can search that Online.

@lonesamurai1: its always been happening. It has nothing to do with ps4 pro. And were talking about prey which is just one game. I know pc's will have more problems which is why i said it would have to be a major problem for it to be blown up. But due to the fact that what you just said, there are more types of gpus out there than consoles so its natural for pc to have more issues at launch.

@lonesamurai1: it will be flashing since its uncommon on consoles. On pc its a norm for a game to have bugs for a week or 2 so its not really mentioned unless its a real game breaker.

@lonesamurai1: you can check steam reviews and see that its not just a few. Theres is one game that is or was broken (not sure) which is prey. Lawbreakers was minor which is fine a day later. I get though, Bethesda fuked up on the ps4 port. But overall there are more of those smaller issues that get resolved after a week or 2 on PC. Thats pretty much a fact. These days pretty much any pc game is guaranteed to have bugs for a decent amount of gamers. I usually purchase games at launch and I experience some of them. But at the end you take one bad game and make it like its a common thing on that console. You definitely just have something against PlayStation lol. But really problems exist on all platforms. Thats a fact.

@lonesamurai1: I definitely agree that pc games are much better than just a couple of years ago. The first major issue this gen which I believe was with amd cards, Batman arkham knight. I played the ps4 version which was smooth. The game was fixed some time after on pc and I repurchased it on Pc with all DLC for like $8. The game was just beautiful and still looks good compared to the demanding that are out now. I play most 3rd party games on pc and really just have consoles for exclusives. Depending on the game I can still get high/ultra settings at 1440 or 1080 resolution 60+fps. I also dont game a monitor but sit back on my sofa and enjoy it on my 60" KS8000 Samsung with a Xbox one/ps4 controller. So going to consoles for 3rd party games does look pretty choppy compared to pc but ps4 sure does shine in graphics in its 1st party gamez. Ratchet and clank, UC4, MLB17, Horizon zero dawn. And future releases like god of war and spiderman IMO are some of the best looking games around. Sony sure has some state of the art Dev's that sure know how to take advantage of hardware. I could only imagine what they can do with some of the current GPU's or even the soon to release xboxoneX.

@lonesamurai1: to me resolution partially important. I'm fine with a minimum of 1080P. I'm more into the art direction. Imo 30 fps is also acceptable for 3rd person games. 60+fps is a must for 1st person games. I had a blast with horizon... Game is awesome and Some of the most intense and memorable battles in that game. Haven't played any of the persona's but I may pick it up when the price drops. I hear its great.

@lonesamurai1: I never said that Sony's issue was better than pc. What my point is that you don't count prey as an issue but you count law breakers which got patched a day later to fix the known issues. I think you just have something against ps4. If youre going to count ff15 and lawbreakers then you have to count hellblade, Nier and prey.

Nice to hear. But hard to see it being better than Forza. More excited about getting Gran Turismo on my Pro rather than Project Cars 2. Can't see myself getting three different racing games that close together.
