Pokemon Go June 2020 Events: Zekrom, Solstice Event, Bug Out, And More

Niantic has outlined a variety of events that will be happening in Pokemon Go next month, from the debut of Zekrom to the return of the solstice celebration.

June is officially underway, and Pokemon Go developer Niantic has revealed a variety of different events it has lined up for the hit Pokemon mobile game this month. On top of June 2020's Community Day, a number of things are happening in Pokemon Go over the next few weeks, including the debut of another new Gen 5 Legendary, the return of the solstice event, and more.

Zekrom

Immediately following Reshiram's departure on June 16, its Pokemon White counterpart, Zekrom, will make its debut in Pokemon Go. The Legendary Pokemon will appear in five-star Raids for a limited time, giving you your first chance to catch one in the mobile game. Zekrom will also be the star of three Raid Hour events on the following dates:

  • June 17 -- 6-7 PM local time
  • June 24 -- 6-7 PM local time
  • July 1 -- 6-7 PM local time

Legendary Raid Weekend

The Legendary Eon Pokemon Latios and Latias will return to the game for a special Raid Weekend event. The event kicks off at 8 AM local time on June 12 and runs until 10 PM local time on June 15. Throughout the weekend, Latios and Latias will appear in five-star Raids, marking your first chance to catch them since January.

Solstice Event And Bug Out

Pokemon Go's solstice-themed event will return in the latter half of the month. The event will kick off at 8 AM local time on June 19 and run until 10 PM local time on June 24. A few days later, it'll be followed by the bug-themed Bug Out, which will run from June 26 to July 1.

New Research Breakthrough Reward: Trapinch

As usual, a new month will also bring a new set of Field Research tasks to complete, along with a new Research Breakthrough reward. Throughout June 2020, you'll have a chance to catch the Ant Pit Pokemon Trapinch each time you achieve a Research Breakthrough in June.

Galarian Pokemon

As part of the final batch of Throwback Challenges, a handful of Galarian Pokemon will make their debut in Pokemon Go. From June 3-8, you'll be able to encounter Galarian Stunfisk in the wild and in Raids. You'll also have a chance to hatch Galarian forms of Meowth, Zigzagoon, and Darumaka from 7 km eggs.

June 2020 Community Day

Pokemon Go's June Community Day event is set for next Saturday, June 20. As voted by fans, the featured Pokemon this time will be Bug/Poison type Weedle. Each Weedle that you evolve into Beedrill by the end of the Community Day will learn the event-exclusive move Drill Run.
