Comments

Pokemon Go's Pokedex has expanded once more with the introduction of the first Gen 5 Pokemon, which have arrived as part of the game's third and final set of Ultra Bonuses. Players around the world now have a chance to encounter a variety of monsters originally from the Unova region in Pokemon Black and White versions, with even more to come over the next few months.

What Are The New Gen 5 Pokemon?

As Niantic has previously teased, the three Unova starters--Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott--are among the new Pokemon you can find, and they can either be caught in the wild or hatched from certain eggs. They certainly aren't the only Gen 5 monsters available in the game, however. Pidove, Lillipup, Patrat, and more will also appear in the wild, while Litwick, Ferroseed, Deino, and others may hatch from 10 km eggs.

Depending on where you live, you'll also be able to encounter a handful of new region-exclusive Pokemon. Durant and Heatmor will only appear in the Eastern and Western hemispheres, respectively, while the three elemental monkeys Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour will each be exclusive to certain parts of the world.

How To Get Unova Stone In Pokemon Go

Coinciding with the arrival of Gen 5 Pokemon, Niantic has introduced a new evolutionary item to the game called the Unova Stone. Much like the Sinnoh Stone, this is required to evolve certain Pokemon from its respective region; for instance, you'll need to use an Unova Stone to evolve Lampent into Chandelure.

At present, the only known way to obtain an Unova Stone is by completing enough Field Research tasks and achieving a Research Breakthrough. As a refresher, you'll receive one stamp for the first Field Research task you complete each day, and once you've collected seven stamps in total, you'll achieve a breakthrough.
