PlayStation Network struggles to stay up following EU PS4 launch

Is the White Light normal ? thought it was suppose to be blue or is that just for the boot up ?

I am currently on the list of people who will recieve the Ps4 in europe as part of the second batch (my pre order was slightly on the late side).

I do not fear psn going down, i do not fear games looking badly / running badly.
But i am deeply terrified (to the point where your stomach feels funky) about the infamous BLOD. As roughly 15 people on the site where i've ordered it have complained about DOA (dead on arrival) ps4's.

This page is one of the biggest supliers in my country, and likely shipped closed to 100k ps4's in the first batch. So 15 defects to 100k isn't that many i know.

But still... i am freaking terrified >< (especially as waiting for a 399 euro paperweight since the 5th of september would really suck like an industrial vacuum...)

Feels like RROD all over again.

This is why i hammered in the codes first and downloaded alllll the things before proceeding to game.

Gamespot used to be my favorite videogames site for over 12 years now, but every since they changed the interface I'm disliking this site more and more. It's harder to find games your looking for and it seems they barely have new articles, and when they do have new articles their already old on other sites. Obviously this doesn't pertain to the topic but I guess i just miss the old gamespot I use to browse after school.

Online services are struggling due to a huge surge of people?

My god, this is like, totally unprecedented!!

I mean, no online service that has ever existed has ever struggled when it first launched, right?

Of all the modules to temporarily disable to free up capacity, Sony Playstation chose one that gives value to the customer. :/

The "there are too many people signing in" excuse is just pathetic, when BF4 or GTA V online first launched they were bashed to death and many people I know traded in their games. now that Sony faces a similar problem people automatically defend it. I understand why many people go for the PS4, but this blind loyalty to Sony is getting out of hand.

This is nothing new PSN struggles with 2 people playing online with it.Now they just want people to be dumb enough to pay for a crappy service

Doesn't seem to be happening here in NZ. Our deals and software availability have always seemed to be based off PSN EU, but I guess that doesn't extend to server connectivity.

Is this something really deserve all the complaining in the comment section?

The PS4 is just bad right now and in all honesty it seems the next-gen console era has been rushed. Unfortunately fans are suffering as per usual.

Gamespot trolls both companies Sony just seems to screw up more the Microsoft that is all...

Really starting to think GameSpot/CBS are bedfellows with Microsoft after seeing this story ride the top of the NewsWire Column for the entire past day. Anyone else starting to get that vibe?
