Nintendo has announced that the Switch remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year door will be releasing on May 23.

This new version comes with a bunch of new features, including higher-resolution graphics and a rearranged soundtrack. Characters retain their original designs, such as Princess Peach keeping her pre-Mario Party 4 dress design, instead of the updated ones in later Paper Mario games. Furthermore, it will also use the original game's voice clips, which feature former voice actor Charles Martinet.

Three other older Mario games from the Game Boy era are coming to Nintendo Switch Online too. The games are Dr. Mario, Mario Golf, and Mario Tennis. All three will be available on March 12.

March is always an exciting time for fans as March 10 is Mario Day. Miyamoto recently announced that Nintendo and Illumination are making another Mario movie , which is due out in April 2026. Nintendo also revealed that it will be releasing Mario Kart Lego sets in 2025.
