One of Nintendo's next Lego sets will be themed around the company's iconic Mario Kart series. In a post on Instagram celebrating Mario Day, Lego teased a kart made of Lego bricks, as well as a new Lego Mario figure.

This is not just a tease, though. In a press release, Nintendo confirmed that "Mario Kart will be coming to Lego Super Mario in the future," and Lego separately confirmed the set will debut in 2025. Nintendo said fans should "stay tuned" for more information on what to expect from the collaboration.

Lego's own video included the Mario Kart tease as well, in addition to the announcement of the Bowser Express train set, the King Boo's Haunted Mansions set, and the Battle with Roy at Peach's Castle set. You can see these three newly announced Lego sets in the video below.

The Lego store website confirms that Bowser Express ($120), King Boo's Mansion ($75), and Battle with Roy ($65) will launch on August 1. The Mario Kart set is coming in 2025.

Nintendo and Lego first began working together on Lego sets in 2020 and have created more and more sets over time, spanning more than two-dozen so far. People can earn extra Lego points for buying any of the sets directly from Lego ending today, March 11, to celebrate the Mario Day festivities.

In other Mario news, Nintendo and Illumination announced that they are making another Mario animated film after the first one made more than $1.3 billion worldwide. Nintendo also announced release dates for a bunch of Nintendo games to celebrate Mario Day.
