Developer NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that upcoming fighting game Mortal Kombat X will not get a demo, while at the same time teasing a new character reveal for later this month.
"There is no demo," Mortal Kombat co-creator and NetherRealm boss Ed Boon said on Twitter (via MP1st).
There won't be a demo, producer Shaun Himmerick says, because making a demo would have required time NetherRealm didn't have. So instead, NetherRealm spent the time polishing and refining the game. "The final game is better for it," he said.
Finally, Himmerick teased that fans can expect another Mortal Kombat X character reveal later this month. He didn't offer any clues regarding who the character might be, though fans are speculating that it might be Mileena. NetherRealm has historically revealed new characters during live-stream events.
The Mortal Kombat X release date is April 14. The game is coming to PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. Just recently, we learned about the game's four collector's editions and how the game's female characters will be more realistically proportioned.
