Nintendo lays out Q1, Q2 slate

Publisher's latest release schedule for includes Ninja Gaiden DS and Okami Wii for March 25, Wii Fit in Q2.

Earlier this week, Nintendo worked many of its most faithful into a fit--for a second time--with news that the critically acclaimed Wii fighter Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been delayed to March 9, as opposed to its previously revised February 10 date. However, that revision hasn't stopped the Masters of Mario from laying out their lineup on the Wii and DS for the first half of 2008.

Wii Fit, which was released on December 1 in Japan and has thus far held a nebulous 2008 release date in North America, will now arrive sometime in Q2. March 25 will carry special import for Nintendo gamers, as both Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword and Ready at Dawn's Wii port of Okami are expected to hit retail.

Nintendo's lineup, listed in full below, carries several other new release dates, including confirmation of Myst for the DS arriving in March, Aksys Games' Castle of Shikigami III for the Wii arriving April 15, Atlus' Baroque on the Wii for February 26, and Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles for February.

Of those game it looks like at the moment my heavy-hitters are in March. Smash Bros. Brawl and Okami will more than tide me over to get a Wii fix.

Force Unleashed: Wii is coming out in summer? Isn't the main game coming out in April-May? If so, that means we might actually see more effort than a PS2 port with tacked-on Wii controls!

Nintendo seems to have plenty of games this gen for the Wii. Nice to see compared to the GameCube. Hope they aren't quick cash-ins by developers (fingers crossed).

Wow, Nintendo's finally getting support it badly needs. Although I can't say that all of those games are worth my dollar, I'm glad to see that the Big N is bouncing back. Now it needs to bring other franchises and other big developers to push the Wii's graphics to the limit. Next, I predict a Wii HD console. Maybe not HDMI, but possibly a 1080i output via it's component cables.

Only Smash Bros and Mario Kart seem to be worth buying on the Wii since I already played through Okami on ps2. Everything else on Wii looks like its going to suck.

That's a long list, the only good things I see is Smash Bros Brawl and Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword. It'd be interesting to see a Smash Bros for the DS some day, if it does, it better have online or else it'll be no good.

I saw 8 outof the whole list that will definitely be good and another 3-4 that could be. But those eight are good enough for me! I'm actually a little glad SSBB was pushed so i can play No More Heroes

Hm, just as I expected, the Summer lineup is weak, just like with every other system. Oh well, considering how many Summer gaming droughts I've experienced, I guess I really shouldn't be surprised.

I am pretty sure they will make a Super Smash Bros. DS game when Super Smash Bros. Brawl is done and releases for the Wii.

6 games I found up there that look decent at least. but I mean common you honestly look at the ps3 or 360 carts too for the summer and I'll be darned if you find more then 6 there too. Summers just suck to be a gamer....sad really i was hoping with e3 gone there would be more incentive to release year round.

That's alotta games. Problem is: most of them are going to suck. No More Heroes, Destroy All Humans,MX vs ATV, WWII Aces, Brothers In Arms, Okami, Star Wars: FU, LEGO: Indie, DeBlob, Alone In The Dark, Mario Kart, SSBB will all rock. The rest are probably through away projects from developers going 'cheap and gimmicky'.

Mario Kart's release date is Spring '08? Sure it is. I'm calling it as November '08 at the earliest, probably December. I wouldn't mind a bit more info on that Wii Dragon Quest game coming out on Feb 26th. The House That Josh Larson Built (Gamespot) should do some investigating on that potential gem.

Brawl -Okami -Advanced Wars: Days of Ruin (knew about this prior to the list) I'd go through the list some more...but my eyes are bleeding as is.

Man every time Nintendo releases a list like that, it's always jammed with really crappy kids games. You have to look so closely to find the good stuff - like OKAMI.

Outside of brawl this list looks awful.....I give a lot of credit to Nintendo for pulling off the scam of selling a gamecube with motion control. I own a PS3 and 360 and I dont have any urge to buy a system in which the graphics are tremendously outdated and flail my arms around on horrible games
