Here's a quick rundown of all the key reveals and updates announced during the Nintendo Direct.

The February 2021 Nintendo Direct was the first major livestream from the publisher since September 2019, and it was certainly a loaded showing. Spanning 50 minutes, we saw several games coming to the Nintendo Switch this year and in 2022. Along with updates on known titles like No More Heroes 3, Monster Hunter Rise, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate--we also saw some new reveals for Samurai Warriors 5, Annapurna Interactive's Neon White, the surprise return of Mario Golf.

With the wealth of games revealed, we're offering a round-up of all the major announcements during the stream. The Big Reveals

The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Revealed

The Nintendo Wii's most ambitious Zelda game makes it big return on the Nintendo Switch with an enhanced port. Along with an HD resolution update, the original's unique sword fighting combat that used motion-control mechanics have now been enhanced to work with the JoyCons. However, if you wish to play without using the motion-controls, you can now do that with a new revamped control scheme.

Mario Golf: Super Rush Reveal

The next game in the long dormant Mario Golf series has been revealed. In Super Rush, Mario and friends will take to the golf course and compete in games across the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario Golf: Super Rush also has a new story mode, which stars your Mii character and sees them explore the kingdom and interact with characters from the series.

Smash Bros. New Fighters Reveal: Mythra and Pyra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Kicking off the show was the reveal of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 characters Mythra and Pyra joining the cast for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. So far, the only Xenoblade character in the Smash is Shulk, who comes from the original entry in the RPG series. Both characters use a combination of swords and magic to fight against their enemies, and they can also use their Final Smash attacks to summon other characters from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. These fighters will also bring with them a new stage to fight on, which will release sometime in March.

Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity DLC Announced

During the stream, Nintendo revealed two big content drops for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. By purchasing the upcoming expansion pack, you will get access to new characters, costumes, weapons, and new locations to travel to that have new challenges. The first major content update will launch sometime in June, with the next one coming November.

Splatoon 3 Revealed

Closing out the show, the next installment of the multiplayer ink-battle game franchise was revealed. In the trailer, we got to see what the world beyond the Inkopolis looks like, as we see a brand new Inkling emerge from the ruins of the old world. Despite the post-apocalyptic imagery, Splatoon 3 still looks as energetic and lively as ever. The game is planned for a 2022 release.

The battle royale game in the mold of a game show will make its way to the Nintendo Switch. Launching this Summer, the game will bring the lively and comical take on the battle royale genre to the portable console with all current content released from the game.

Koei Tecmo is reviving the Samurai Warriors series, with its next installment coming to the Nintendo Switch this Summer. Set in the Sengoku period, the game will cover the rise of Nobunaga Oda and Mitsuhide Akechi. Koei Tecmo will also launch a series of livestream that showcase what's coming to this revival of the Samurai Warriors series starting on February 25.

The Legend of Mana Comes To The Nintendo Switch

Square-Enix's fan-favorite Mana series will see the next remaster from the series with Legend of Mana, set for release on June 24. Featuring HD 2D art, you'll explore the world of Fa'Diel to uncover the land and its mysteries. This is a full remaster of the original PlayStation 1 game from 1999, which features updates 2D backgrounds and characters sprites.
