New Mafia 3 Trailer Spotlights Criminal Rackets and How You Stop Them

Get a closer look at the crime game before we learn more at E3.

Ahead of a proper new trailer at E3 next week, 2K Games today released a video for Mafia III that shows off some of the game's "criminal ecology."

This video highlights Mafia III's criminal rackets. As explained in the video, you can choose to take on any number of missions within a criminal racket, all of which are tied into the larger story. Each racket has its own boss, too, that players must eventually defeat.

Additionally, each racket is protected by "enforcers." You don't have to kill these characters, but doing so will make your eventual hideout raid easier to complete. You can also shake down some lower-level bad guys to obtain information that should make things easier.

This is the second new Mafia III trailer to come online this week. The first one showed off main character Lincoln Clay shooting enemies and fighting in a steel cage match.

Mafia III launches on October 7 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. In other recent news about the game, 2K has announced there will be more than 100 songs on the soundtrack, including "The House of the Rising Sun," "Paint It Black," and "All Along the Watchtower."

There will also be a $150 Mafia III Collector's Edition that comes with the soundtrack on vinyl, a 56-page art book, dog tags for main character Lincoln Clay, faux leather drink coasters, and Playboy lithographs.
