New Deadpool 2 Image Reveals First Look At Domino

"Some people just know how to work a red carpet."

The first image of Domino from the upcoming superhero sequel Deadpool 2 has been released. It shows the character, played by Atlanta star Zazie Beetz, recreating a familiar promotional shot from the first movie, but with Deadpool himself acting as a rug. Check it out below, as tweeted by star Ryan Reynolds:

Deadpool 2 is currently in production. Reynolds has also teased some images from the set, including one taken on the first day of production, and another of Leslie Uggams as Blind Al.

Reynolds and Beetz will be be joined by Josh Brolin, playing Cable. Brolin has documented his transformation into the hulking mercenary on Instagram; in May, he revealed the exhausting workout regime that he underwent to get into shape, while this post showed him having make-up put on for the role.

The film is set for release on June 1, 2018. David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde) is directing the movie, replacing Tim Miller, who reportedly clashed with Reynolds over the direction of the film. A first teaser for Deadpool 2 was released alongside Logan in March.

In related news, it was announced in May that an adult animated Deadpool show is on the way. The currently untitled series will be overseen by Atlanta star and creator Donald Glover with his brother Stephen, who will both act as showrunners, producers, and writers. It is being developed for FXX, the sister channel to FX, and the 10-part first season will premiere next year.

At least change her hair. That giant poof will be caught before the rest of her.

Looks absolutely nothing like Domino. Eye patch should at least be black, and for Pete's sake, give her shorter hair...something that makes a little more sense for a world class assassin/martial artist.

She doesn't look a thing like Domino! Scarlet Johansen would look far better as her if you're gonna keep recycling actors, Fox and Marvel. She looks more like that one metal armed Avenger whose name I can't recall.

This is one of those characters where changing the race or skin color of the character really just isn't a big deal. If she does a good job with the role, that's all that matters at this point. Yeah the hair is very off, but really, that's pretty insignificant. Domino isn't a character known for hair. So changing that, who fucking cares.

@darthbluntsaber: Her chalk white skin is a direct result of her mutation. On top of that the chalk white skin and black circle tattoo around her eye are a visual play off of her name. So yes it matters, and it wouldn't have been hard for make up/costume design to actually make her look the part.

I will agree that the hair isn't that big a deal but considering her name is Domino and her appearance is designed to mimic that idea the way she looks does matter.

Terrible appearance for Domino. She looks nothing like the character. Medium length straight black hair, some white paint/make up work and a black dot around the eye and there you go. It's not that hard to make her actually look the part. I have no problem with the actress choice but considering how well they did in the first film at characters like Deadpool and Collosus it's really disappointing that they don't even seem to be trying with costume work for Domino.

@effinjay: Well her mother is Caucasian but that may not actually be a factor because Domino was created through in vitro fertilization and genetic engineering. I'm pretty sure when she was born she had the pale-blue skin so who's to say what "race" she technically is.

Maybe they did screen tests with a pale-white version of Domino and didn't find it fit the look of the movie or something. Actually maybe they just don't like pale characters over at Fox. I mean Teenage Negasonic Warhead was pretty pale and goth in the comics and they changed her into a bald teen for the movie. What's they're deal?

She looks like awesome as Typhoid Mary, except that's not the character she's playing.

@darthrevenx: Except it's not Domino. She's depicted with very pale white skin for a reason. Pale white skin and a jet black dot around the eye, similar to the style of a domino piece as per the name.
