The first trailer for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway has been released. The Netflix anime movie is the last additional to the classic mecha franchise.

Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway follows Yoshiyuki Tomino's '80s Gundam movies, the last of which was Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack in 1988. It's based on Tomino's 1989 manga Hathaway's Flash, and focuses on Hathaway Noa's attempts to stop the increasingly powerful Earth Federation. The trailer is packed with stunning mecha action and will be a must-watch for fans of this hugely influential series. Check the trailer out below:

Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway doesn't have a confirmed release date yet, but it hits Japanese theaters on June 11, so will hopefully be with us soon. The original Gundam movies are also set to hit Netflix on June 18, namely Mobile Suit Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam II: Soldiers of Sorrow, Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space, and Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack.

There's also a live-action Gundam movie in development at Netflix. The film was announced in April, with Kong: Skull Island's Jordan Vogt-Roberts directing and Y: The Last Man's Brian K. Vaughn writing the script. No casting or release details have been revealed so far.

The Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway trailer was revealed as part of Netflix's Geeked Week virtual event. Other announcements have included the first trailer for Masters of the Universe: Revelations, the release date for Locke & Key Season 2, an announcement of new Stranger Things casting and a prequel podcast, the episode titles for Umbrella Academy Season 3, and the news that its live-action Cowboy Bebop adaptation will debut this fall.
