Moonlighter Dev's Lego-Inspired Cataclismo Gets Flashy Gameplay Trailer, July Release Date

If you build it, they will come. The "they" being a siege of Horrors in Cataclismo, the upcoming game from Moonlighter developer Digital Sun. The RTS is planned to launch on July 16 for PC.

A new trailer for Cataclismo revealed the release date and also showcased the various game modes within the RTS. Digital Sun is promising a 20-hour campaign, for instance. The story focuses on Lady Iris as you try to keep humanity alive. The other modes highlighted include skirmish, creative, and survival.

Previously, Digital Sun had mentioned that Cataclismo is inspired by properties like Lego, Age of Empires 2, and Warcraft 3. Regarding LEGO, the RTS has you building "brick by brick," per the developer, to defend against enemies named the Horrors. You can even stave them off by waves in survival mode. There are also various troops to utilize, with archers prominently seen in the video above.

This will be the first game ever self-published by Digital Sun. Previously, the developer worked on The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story with publisher Riot Games and Moonlighter with 11 bit studios. The latter has surpassed 2 million in sales now.
