Monsters at Work, a spin-off series from the 2001 Pixar hit Monsters Inc., will now begin streaming on Disney+ on July 7. Until recently, when the first image from Monsters at Work was released in May, the series was scheduled to land on the streaming service July 2.

Disney's official synopsis for the show reads, "Monsters At Work takes place the day after the Monsters, Incorporated power plant started harvesting the laughter of children to fuel the city of Monstropolis, thanks to Mike and Sulley's discovery that laughter generates ten times more energy than screams." Along with the new release date, Disney has also released a new trailer for the series, which you can check out below.

After July 7, new episodes will drop on the following Wednesdays. It has not been disclosed how many episodes the series will have, but it's likely to be substantial since Monsters at Work is functionally intended as both a spin-off and sequel to the popular 2001 movie Monsters Inc.

Ben Feldman stars as the voice of Tylor Tuskmon, alongside other new cast members including Mindy Kaling as Val Little, Henry Winkler as Fritz, Lucas Neff as Duncan, and Alanna Ubach as Cutter. Billy Crystal and John Goodman reprise their roles as Mike Wazowski and James P. "Sulley" Sullivan from the original.

Pixar's latest movie is Luca, and that arrives on Disney+ on June 18. Check out the latest Luca trailer, and then read why some Pixar employees are reportedly not happy about the decision to send it straight to streaming.
