Pixar's Luca New Trailer Promises A Small Town Sea Monster Adventure

The latest Pixar movie will be released on Disney+ in June.

The new trailer for Luca has been released. The latest Pixar movie hits Disney+ on June 18.

The film focuses on Luca and Alberto, a pair of young sea monsters who live in the ocean near a small Italian town. Despite being warned by Luca's mom not to go near the surface, the pair decide to experience life amongst people--and luckily, the pair transform into human form when they are dry. But keeping their true identities a secret proves tricky when even the slightest drop of water starts to change them back. It looks like a warm and funny fantasy comedy--check the trailer out below:

Luca stars Jacob Tremblay (Room, The Predator) as Luca and Jack Dylan Grazer (Shazam, It) as Alberto, plus Maya Rudolph and Jim Gaffigan as Luca's parents. It's directed by Enrico Casarosa. Check out the previous Luca trailer for more.

The film was originally set for a theatrical release, but in March, it was announced that it will be released straight onto Disney+. As with Pixar's Soul, which hit the platform in December, Luca will be available to subscribers at no extra cost.

The 101 Dalmatians prequel Cruella and Marvel movie Black Widow are also heading to straight Disney+, in May and July respectively. However, unlike Luca, these will be Premier Access titles, costing extra to watch. Previous Premier Access titles such as Mulan and Raya and the Last Dragon both cost an additional $30 on top of the regular Disney+ subscription.
