Minecraft Dungeons Corrupted Cauldron Boss Guide: How To Overcome This First Major Challenge

Here's what you need to know to beat the game's first major boss.

The Corrupted Cauldron is a boss at the end of the Soggy Swamp area in Minecraft Dungeons. It's not the most challenging boss fight in the game, but it can be a little tricky--mainly because it's one of the first proper bosses you'll come across.

The Soggy Swamp itself is home to many witches who have been brewing a variety of potions to distil a terrifyingly potent concoction for the Arch-Illager. The Corrupted Cauldron is where said concoction ends up, so to stop it from reaching the Arch-Illager's kingdom, you'll need to take it down in the deepest part of the Soggy Swamp.

Below we detail how to defeat the Corrupted Cauldron boss. What It Takes To Beat The Corrupted Cauldron

There are a variety of ways in which you can take on the Corrupted Cauldron. The main danger in this fight isn't the boss itself, but the other enemies who swarm the battlefield, making it challenging to maintain line-of-sight with the cauldron in the middle of the map.

Although you could take out all of the weaker enemies before making a beeline to the center of the map to wail on the cauldron, it's helpful to remember two things: the cauldron can't move, and aside from summoning hordes of easily-defeated enemies, its only ability is to conjure fire around its base. As a result, getting in close is a pointless and tedious endeavor--instead, you'll want to use arrows and ranged Artifacts.

I would recommend summoning a wolf or a llama if you have a Tasty Bone or Wheat, and equipping the Fireworks Arrow to one of your three Artifact slots. Ideally, if you have a bow with the "Growing" enchantment, you'll be able to run away from the smaller enemies, launch some powerful charged shots right at the cauldron, and throw a couple of Fireworks Arrows into the mix for a massive damage boost. I found that the best way to tackle this boss is to keep your distance from the small enemies--in fact, I ignored them--and aimed to zero out the cauldron's health bar with ranged attacks as quickly as possible. You'll need a lot of arrows for this strategy, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue, given how abundant they are early on.

To summarize: Get to the boss arena, shoot the cauldron with arrows and ranged Artifacts, summon a companion, and make sure to avoid contact with the weaker ones until the cauldron is dead and can no longer spawn anymore. If you follow this strategy, you'll have emptied the cauldron of its vile concoction in no time.
