Metal Gear Solid V has 'vast' multiplayer mode

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will include a "vast" multiplayer mode, creator Hideo Kojima has confirmed in a new interview with CVG. He explained that this new mode will be developed by Kojima Productions' recently established Los Angeles studio in collaboration with the company's main outfit in Japan.

"Yes, we plan on creating Metal Gear Online," Kojima said. "Multiplayer right now is being created at our LA studio as well as us. We're working closely to create a vast multiplayer for all the fans."

No further information about the open-world game's multiplayer mode was divulged.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is currently in development for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. It will feature real-time weather, new stealth options, various modes of transportation (tanks, horses, cars), and is said to offer "unparalleled strategic freedom."

Kojima also recently revealed that the final version of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will look better than the trailer shown off during Microsoft's E3 briefing on Monday.

@noandno @Redsyrup When did he voice Big Boss? In MGS3 Big Boss was voiced by David Hayter. In the game they're clones remember? It would make sense that every clone of Snake is voiced by Hayter. He's fucking with my memories man!

@Redsyrup @noandno True, but if Solid Snake makes an appearance in the game, Hayter (Big Boss) would be confronting Hayter (Solid Snake). Essentially he would be arguing with himself. It wouldn't make sense in that context. That's why I think Hayter will make an appearance at the end of the game or in the the follow up to MGSV. BTW, I don't like Sutherland for the role either, but I'm considering other reasons why he was chosen.

Wait this on current gen as well? Yes, I will just get it on my 360. I'm waiting for PS4 + Vita bundle with better exclusives than the crap they have shown so far (inFamous and Killzone look lame). Hoping I dont have to wait long for them to put the two systems in one package (PS4+vita).

Metal Gear always have been single player and it must keep this. I don't get the coop mode for this game but I really want an improved multiplayer with that open world game, better than the multiplayer from MGS4. Sure it would be an epic conclusion of Metal Gear Solid saga

@Carrig90 You didn't like MGO? I thought it was one of the most underrated multiplayer experiences on ps3. Also i think it has had a huge effect on MGS 5. I used to scan/cqc in MGO and i can wait to be sneaking around afghanistan looking to choke out others who are run and gunners.

@FSOTP @Carrig90 Yes it was ok but I like another kind of multiplayer, more wide open and with more freedom to move around and to do what u want in a big area. MGO made me feel tired because the playing area was very limited and I stopped playing it. There are multiplayer games that don't make me feel tired like it did but it always depend on the gaming style. The important thing is to have freedom and to do missions or something new everytime u join it

Slightly unrelated...

I fully remember how Kojima said that they wanted their FOX engine to "be the best in the world" while saying us that Ground Zeros footage was on a PC with PS3-specs and Metal Gear games always looked system-defying and now its confirmed for next-gen consoles so Kojima lied to us that earlier trailers were running on current-gen?? -_-..or will the next-gen version be just an up-ressed 60 fps port?? just saying though I will buy this game regardless of the visuals..

I'm glad they have a separate studio so it doesn't take focus away much from the main game. I don't really know about having MP altogether, although I did toy with MGS4 online.
