The cast of Quentin Tarantino's next movie continues to add some massive names. After being rumored for months to be playing a role in the film, which is titled Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Margot Robbie reveals she has officially signed on for the project. She joins Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, who were previously attached to the project.

Robbie reveals to IndieWire that she will play late actress Sharon Tate in the movie and that working with the director was a big draw for her. "Tarantino is one of my bucket-list directors," she says. "As long as I can remember, I've been a huge Tarantino fan."

She continues, "Beyond anything, I've just always wanted to see him work. And I want to see how he runs a set, and how he directs people, and what the vibe is onset, and what's in the script, and then what happens on the day. I'm just fascinated by all of it, fascinated. So it's going to be a crazy experience to witness it first hand. It’s something I’ve always dreamed of doing."

Still, beyond working with Tarantino, Robbie sees the importance of playing a role like Tate. Given that the movie is set in Los Angeles in 1969, and the fictional character DiCaprio plays lives next door to Tate, the story is expected to look at her death at the hands of Charles Manson's family of followers.

"I feel a responsibility with every character I play, whether they're fictional or real life," Robbie says. "To play her right, play her truthfully, and kind of understand her emotional journey."

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is currently scheduled to hit theaters on August 9, 2019. It will be released through Sony Pictures, marking Tarantino's first project with the studio. He announced last year that he was cutting ties with longtime producer Harvey Weinstein and the Weinstein Company in the wake of the producer's sexual misconduct allegations.
