Lost Planet getting updated

Capcom's chilly sci-fi shooter getting patch next month that fixes bugs, adds features to multiplayer modes.

Capcom is preparing to do a little spring cleaning on its latest Xbox 360 game. The publisher today announced that it will release an update for Lost Planet: Extreme Condition that fixes bugs and adds some multiplayer features. However, there's no need for impatient gamers to constantly check Xbox Live for the file--the update won't be released until March 9.

The update doesn't add any substantial changes to the multiplayer game, just some minor tweaks to the presentation. Among them are the addition of icons indicating who is speaking in Team Elimination, Post Grab, and Fugitive modes; flags in pregame lobbies indicating the origins of everyone in the game; and icons displaying gamers' connection strengths.

Capcom is also addressing several bugs, including problems stemming from lag, an exploit with reloading guns, and others. For a full list of changes, head over to the Lost Planet forums.

Lost Planet is rated T for Teen and retails for $59.99. For more information, read GameSpot's review.
