Loki Season 2: First Five Minutes Of Disney+ Show Debuts

It won't be long before the Disney+ original series Loki returns to the streaming service for Season 2. Ahead of that, though, attendees of Disney's Destination D23 event in Florida were able to watch the first five minutes of the Season 2 premiere. It wasn't released online. Luckily for you, though, we were there to view it and report back.

Warning: The following contains spoilers from the first five minutes of the Loki Season 2 premiere. Naturally, there is no context for what, exactly, these scenes will mean in the long run.

Co-executive producer Kevin Wright appeared at Destination D23 over the weekend and brought the first five minutes of the new season with him to debut. However, he also gave some important context around what's happened since last we left Loki in the Season 1 finale. In a word, nothing has happened.

Season 2 picks up mere moments after Season 1, with Loki (Tom Hiddleston) running through the Time Variance Authority, attempting to find Mobius (Owen Wilson). Unfortunately, as we know, when Loki finds Mobius, the TCA agent has no idea who he is. After the death of He Who Remains in the Season 1 finale, the multiverse looks to be in bad shape. Additionally, Loki is glitching in and out of time, while he's on the run from the TVA in the current timeline he's landed in.

At one point he even takes a heroic drive off a balcony, landing on a taxi that then crashes. It's at that point Loki runs into TVA receptionist Casey (Eugene Cordero), who of course also doesn't know him. Following another glitch, though, Lokoi finds himself back in a version of his previous timeline--one where Casey recognizes him. At that point, though, Loki realizes that the damage caused by the crashing taxi has similarly followed him to this new timeline. From there, Loki glitches out and disappears again, leaving the timeline where people know him behind.

We're not sure exactly what is happening here, but it definitely seems as though the multiverse is collapsing in on itself in some way. We won't know what any of this fully means until Loki returns for Season 2 on October 6. Perhaps, when it returns, we'll get a clearer idea of what the next couple of years will look like in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
