Little Hope, The Next Entry In The Dark Pictures Anthology, Has Been Delayed

The next instalment in The Dark Pictures Anthology, Little Hope, has been delayed and will now launch for Xbox One, PS4, and PC in Fall 2020.

Originally planned for this summer, Little Hope is being pushed backed due to development challenges brought about by the shift to remote work in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Pete Samuels, CEO of developer Supermassive, says more than 200 employees have settled into working remotely, but that the initial change slowed down development enough to make a delay unavoidable.

"We have now been working successfully at home for some time, with the entire team committed to delivering the best possible games," Samuels explained. "With that in mind it rests with me to make the unfortunate announcement that Little Hope will be delayed past the Summer release already announced, now targeting Fall 2020."

Little Hope is the follow-up to the first entry in Supermassive's Dark Pictures Anthology, Man of Medan. The horror adventure games follow a similar formula to Until Dawn--the studio's first foray into a horror narrative adventure with branching outcomes that became a cult-classic on PS4.

Man of Medan wasn't as memorable, however. In our 6/10 Man of Medan review, critic James O'Connor called it a disappointing start to the series, saying, "As a show of the potential for the Dark Pictures Anthology, Man of Medan is largely a success, but as a first episode, it leaves plenty to be desired."
