GTAV PC petition passes 350,000 signatures

I dislike PC gamers , they want a PC version so they can pirate the game.

com'on we all know the reality, spend some money on the actual game if some of it is left after building an expensive PC.

Aye, has people have alluded to-- and I myself have also considered; it is quite likely a combination of consoles paying for exclusivity in order to sell more copies, and indeed more actual consoles, and also they know serious gamers often own multiple systems- many will buy it for their console just to play it sooner, and will also buy it again on PC for the enhanced graphics and modding.

I have a 360 lying around, but I can't get into using a gamepad for any game that requires crosshair aiming, so I will wait for the probable PC version sometime down the line, maybe a bit after Ps4 and Xbox One versions.

I'm sure it'll come out on pc eventually. Pc gamers always seem to miss the biggest hurdle your preferred platform now gives developers though. Consistancy. Yes these games are initially developed on a modified pc, so in theory it's easier to release on a pc since it already utilizes the tech. The problem is that developers have to write in many tools to help the game run on a LOT of differing setups. Not only do you have to make the game able to utilize a multitude of brands for processing and graphic rendering, you also have to make that game able to run on older and newer rigs. Most gamers can't afford the $300-$1000 upgrades that come out every year for pc. Developers have to try to make their game run on as many of those people's pcs as possible, since the number of gamers who can afford high-end pcs isn't generally enough to make porting a game to pc worthwhile. This can mean optimizing your game for hundreds of different variables. That's a lot of extra work. Not to mention changing control options/sound options/resolution and a ton of other features. Consoles on the other hand all run on the same hardware (for their respective companies of course) and typically have a larger install base. Even with a petition that promises upwards of 500,000 copies sold, the extra money needed to port this game to pc might not be worth the investment. Of course in this case, I'm sure it will be. Millions of dollars and 5+ years of developement lead me to believe Rockstar's going to want to get this bad boy in as many homes as possible. With consoles getting closer and closer to pcs as well, I'm sure we'll see a shift in the lack of pc ports in the coming years.

Yeah, i understand the optimism. The argument that eventually it'll come to PC is very compelling, and really wish that were true. I mean it's logical right?

But why only rockstars game, i mean Bioshock's Irrational could do it too. It's a very popular games among pc gamers, they got a lot of hype. if they released it on consoles first then port it to pc (or just hold it back a couple of months) wouldn't they made more money that way?

Or SCEA with their signature games like Heavy rain or The last of us? Sure Sony wants to sell consoles, but after couple of months when the excitements gone, wouldn't it behooves them to port it to PC to make more money?

See that argument really doesn't work cause as a PC gamer there's a lot great consoles only game that i wanted to play, which i'm sure millions of other PC gamers wanted to play as well, such as Gears of Wars or Heavy Rain or Killzone or Uncharted or Infamous or Final fantasy after 8 or Metal gear solid.

Those games will made profit because they're very famous games, and they're very good. I'm sure of that because of Mortal Kombat came out after couple of years still make a lot of money.

RDR had made me a very pessimistic person when it comes to Rockstar and PC. They had been very unprofessional about these. They fully realize the extend of enthusiasm from PC gamers, (it's now around 400k signatures now). Either says it'll came eventually or NO, Never.

All you guy tossing over the platform but fail to see the marketing strategy. First release on console most likely MS and Sony pay premium for this and should the game be a big success it will pull more console sales Once it's run it's life cycle go for a second win release on PC and capture all the die hard PC gamers or those who also want to experience it on the PC. How many gamers play on multi platforms - properly most do. Just look an any game after 4 - 8 months you can get it a lot cheaper but this when released on PC will sell for full price. All I can say these guys have got the market - you suckers waxed!

I love both my PC and PS3, both have their pros and cons. But for a game like GTA 5, I think it's only right that it's played on the PC because only then will the hardware do the game justice. I did this for GTA 4 and I will do so for GTA 5.

This is also what is wrong with modern videogame industry. PC is always last in everything. Game releases, Game trailer end logos.. Eventhough PC made most of these devs and pubs who they are today. So the status they have is thanks to PC gamers supporting them and this is their way of thanking us?

Stuff used to made for PC and then ported to consoles. I find it very stupid to make an inferior version first and then port that inferior version to PC and somehow make it a little bit more advanced than console version. It's so easy to make PC version first and afterwards the stripped down console port from the PC version. Just like how things used to be made.

Hardware doesn't mean just raw computing power. It means everything including the controllers which are cheap as hell, my man. GTA5 obviously could've been much better looking game on PC, but that doesn't really matter. It matters how much more things they could've do if the game was on PC. I don't blame Rockstar that much ( I love the guys, thou they should be better than that ), I blame the damn console exclusives that mostly come from the pocket of Sony and Microsoft. If there would be no exclusives, guess who would buy Xbox ... AT ALL.

350k signed petitions :))) This is hilarious. This game will sell millions on consoles. Why would Rockstar bother to make this for PC when not even 25% of the 350k will buy the game while others will take the torrents through the roof.

I forgot I had a PS3 ever since I was gaming on PC and I was craving for GTA 5 to come to PC and signing petitions lol. Yeah, I would still love to see the game come to PC because of the graphics.

Please not another pointless embarrassing petition, the succesfull petitons can be counted with one hand. Rockstar will release the game for PC, they always did, so calm down.

The reason why they didn't release it for PC at the same time as consoles, is because of pirating. Please don't tell me "they get pirated on consoles too", because those 10'000 guys who download the console version over the internet are nothing compared to the amount of what the PC version would have got. And I'm pretty sure not half of the guys who have downloaded the game have a modded console, so they mostly download it out of stupidity.
