GTA Online's Halloween/UFO Event Teased, Points To Paleto Bay

Rockstar's tradition of celebrating Halloween in GTA Online may involve UFOs this year.

Rockstar Games appears to be teasing a UFO-themed Halloween update for Grand Theft Auto V's multiplayer mode, GTA Online. "Strange sightings in GTA Online as Halloween approaches," the developer said in a tweet featuring a clipping from the in-universe newspaper, Los Santos Meteor, describing a UFO sighting and the drama and casualties that followed.

"Strange lights spotted over Paleto Bay," reads the headline. The subhead states, "Locals open fire at sky--limited casualties."

GTA Online celebrates Halloween each year, and GTA V and GTA Online have been known to be visited by UFOs in the past--it appears that Rockstar is combining both traditions this year.

This appears to be connected to Rockstar's previous tease, in which it told fans that an update in October would include "special surprises," including some "unusual activity" in and around southern San Andreas.

Paleto Bay is at the base of Mt. Chiliad, which is at the center of GTA Online's UFO mysteries.

In addition to this upcoming Halloween/UFO event, Rockstar is working on another "exciting adventure" for GTA Online that features familiar faces.

In other news, Rockstar recently officially announced the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition, which features updated versions of GTA III, San Andreas, and Vice City. Outside of that, more details about the improvements for GTA Online and GTA V for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will be announced "in the months to come."
