Getaway 2 gets a new title

SCEE London Studio's crime sequel now goes by the handle The Getaway: Black Monday.

As part of its E3 press conference, Sony displayed a list of its 2004 game roster for all to see. In the lower-right was the sequel to The Getaway, SCEE's ambitious 2003 driving-action hybrid for the PlayStation 2.

However, the game formerly known as The Getaway 2 now goes by a new handle. Like its predecessor, The Getaway: Black Monday (not to be confused with the New Order song "Blue Monday" or the Robert Shaw film Black Sunday) will take players on a wild ride through the British underworld. However, the game will not feature either of the first game's heroes--Mark Hammond, the crook-gone-straight, or Frank Carter, the cop-gone-wild.

Developed by SCEE's London Studio, The Getaway 2 is due in American stores at the end of the year. For more on the game, check out our E3 preview.
