Get Free Nintendo Gold Points When You Renew Switch Online

Nintendo is effectively giving you 10% back on a Switch Online purchase to use in the eShop, for a limited time.

Comments

Nintendo is sweetening the pot for Switch Online subscriptions for a limited time by offering some free Gold Points. The bonus points effectively give you back 10% of your purchase price on an annual subscription, which you can use on digital purchases in the Nintendo eShop.

The offer only applies to annual subscription plans. You can get 200 Gold Points by getting an individual membership ($20) or 350 Gold Points for a family membership ($35). The offer ends on May 10 at 11:59 PM PT.

100 points equals one dollar in the eShop, so either one gives you a tidy discount on a future digital purchase. Gold Points are also acquired by making digital purchases in the eShop, with Nintendo regularly running special offers that give bonus points for preordering upcoming games, like Monster Hunter Rise and New Pokemon Snap.

Switch Online is Nintendo's online service to play some multiplayer online games, but it also offers a number of other bonuses, including free games. The hardware itself can sometimes be difficult to find, so consult our guide on where to buy a Switch to make sure you get your hands on one.
