Freedom Fighters moves to October

Upcoming title from Io Interactive moves by a week; EA says retailers requested delay.

Freedom Fighters, the action shooter from Hitman-developer Io Interactive, was pushed back a week following requests from retailers, Electronic Arts told GameSpot today.

When asked to elaborate on the slippage, the EA spokesperson said, "Not sure that a five day delay on a game that is already in the shrink-wrap constitutes a slip, but call it what you want."

He then added that "Freedom Fighters is done and looks terrific. The game shipped last week as scheduled in Europe. This week's US launch was held following requests from retailers but is scheduled for October 1."
