Fortnite Week 9 Challenges: Stone Heads And Shifty Shafts Treasure Map

Here's the list of challenges you'll be able to complete this week.

Due to the delayed rollout of Patch 5.40, Fortnite's latest set of weekly challenges will arrive a little later than usual. The new missions are scheduled to go live across all platforms on Friday, September 7, but Fortnite Tracker has already uncovered the full list, giving you an early look at the various tasks that are in store. [Update: The challenges have now officially launched and they are slightly different from the leak. The list below has been updated with the confirmed set of challenges. You can find a guide on how to follow the treasure map in Shifty Shafts and how to visit different Stone Heads, which are two of the more time-consuming challenges from the week.]

We're now in Week 9 of Season 5, making this the penultimate set of challenges you'll have to complete before the season ends. Once again, there are seven challenges in all, and they're divided up into two categories: those that are available to everyone, and those reserved for players who've purchased the Season 5 Battle Pass.

Many of this week's challenges appear to be fairly straightforward. In the Free category, you'll have to use one ATK--the new golf cart-like vehicle introduced at the start of Season 5--and dish out damage to other players using explosive weapons. Battle Pass owners, meanwhile, will have to search chests in Pleasant Park and have a dance off with other player, among other tasks. You can find the full list of Week 9 challenges below.

While most of the tasks are fairly self-explanatory and shouldn't pose much problem, there is yet another treasure hunt that will require a bit more leg work to complete. This time, you'll have to follow a treasure map found in Shifty Shafts. We'll have a full guide to help you complete this challenge shortly after the missions go live on Friday.

Separate from the Week 9 challenges, Epic has kicked off a High Stakes event in Fortnite. For a limited time, players will be able to participate in a new heist-themed mode called Getaway, in which teams of four must work together to locate a safe hidden around the island, take the Jewel it contains, and safely escape with it. There is also a corresponding set of High Stakes challenges that unlock special cosmetics.
