As I mention in my preview of the game, the DS' second screen adds some new twists on the standard football formula...as long as you remember to keep your eye on it. While playing the game, I had to consciously remind myself to look down at the second screen. By far the best use of the dual screen is for calling audibles and hot routes. It's a handy and accessible entry into some of the more complicated facets of football games.

On the downside, I'd rather have seen more game-relevant information on the secondary DS screen, such as play clock and down and distance information. This data is currently displayed on the primary game screen in an extremely tiny font. As such, you find yourself scanning between both screens trying to absorb all of the necessary information to make smart play calls before the clock winds down.

What do you think of the new-look Madden for DS? Is the dual-screen format a football revolution in the making? Let's hear your thoughts!
