Encore bringing Suffering to PCs

California publisher announces deal to port Midway's console shooter just weeks before its release.

Just over a week after The Suffering was declared Midway's top (and only) title for Q1 2004, the game is already bringing the pain to PCs. Encore Software announced today it has struck a deal with Midway to bring the survival-horror shooter to PCs later this month.

Like the Xbox and PlayStation 2 versions of the game, the PC suffering will follow Torque, a convicted killer serving time in a haunted prison. Right on cue, the restless spirits rise up at the game's start, possessing humans and wreaking grisly havoc on any humans that get in their way. Torque's job is to escape or die trying.

When it ships in late May, the PC Suffering will be rated “M” for mature and bear a retail price of $29.99. No mention was made of whether the PC Suffering would have additional content or features.
