Elden Ring's Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC Could Release Sooner Than Expected, Leak Suggests

A new expansion is rumored to be coming in 2025 too.

The release date for Elden Ring's first expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, may have possibly been leaked through a gaming retailer's page. The page has since been taken down, but not before screenshots were taken of it.

A gaming retailer in the Philippines called Datablitz had a page for a third-party Elden Ring-themed controller and it mentioned it was a collaboration between Bandai Namco and Thrustmaster. However, what's interesting is that the page seemingly said the controller is available in February 2024 in order to "sync with the new Shadow of the Erdtree expansion release."

There may be additional collaborations in the future as well, including Malenia and Ranni-themed controllers. There's a note that says the designs' releases are to be "synchronized with 2025 Elden Ring major keybeat or new game expansion." This suggests that Shadow of the Erdtree won't be the only expansion Elden Ring could be getting.

Shadow of the Erdtree was announced back in February, and not much information has been revealed since then. If the February 2024 release date turns out to be true, it's unknown why it wasn't shown at The Game Awards 2023 due to their close timing together. It's also possible that the expansion is still further out and that's why it didn't make an appearance at the show.

During last year's awards ceremony, a seemingly random audience member joined Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki on stage as he accepted the Game of the Year award. This prompted this year's show to have increased security.
